PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A woman who was pulled from a burning trailer earlier this month has been released from the hospital.
According to Chief Lanier with the Hampstead Fire Department, firefighters rescued Judy Hinnant from her burning trailer on Lea Drive Feb. 1.
A firefighter found Hinnant unresponsive on a bed, so he broke a window to get in and carried her out the window to safety.
Hinnant was transported to Chapel Hill to be treated for severe smoke inhalation. According to Lanier, she has since been released and is doing well.
Lanier said Hinnant went to the fire station Monday night to thank the firefighters for rescuing her from the burning home.
