PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – There has been an outpouring of support for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy earlier this year, and some young students in Pender County did their part to help too.
First and second graders in Ms. Bridget Wortman’s class at North Topsail Elementary School raised money to help Sandy victims.
According to a teacher from the school, the class learned Officer Franco was hurt helping others during the storm and wanted to donate money toward his recovery.
The students raised $200 and presented the money and get well cards to Detective Antonucci from the Wayne Police Department in New Jersey to take back to Officer Franco.
