Two-car crash on Hwy. 17 slows traffic
HAMPSTEAD, NC (WECT) - A two-car crash in Hampstead caused some delays early Friday afternoon. Representatives with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said a car was traveling north on Hwy. 17 when it collided with another car.
Witnesses say, the car traveling north ran a stoplight, and crashed into a second car making a turn from Country Club Drive onto 17.
Both drivers suffered from minor injuries.
Highway Patrol representatives say the car traveling north was cited for not stopping at a stop light.
It took 45 minutes to clear the scene, traffic was rerouted during that time.
