SURF CITY, NC (WECT) – A site owner no longer plans to build a proposed entertainment center in Surf City, according to town officials.
The center, which was years in the making, included multiple movie theaters and an arcade area. It was going to go at the intersection of Hwy. 210 and Roland Avenue.
Town officials say the owner notified them that the movie theater and arcade plans will not be going forward.
The owner told WECT that he couldn't disclose what would be happening to the site.
While the entertainment center won’t be happening in that area, officials say nothing will be happening to the retail space in that same area that’s already there – a Dunkin Donuts is still scheduled to move in, and other spaces are available for lease.
